The gateway to Balagne with a growing traffic, the port of Ile Rousse strengthens the tourist expansion of the region.

It is the duty of Ile Rousse’s Commercial Port to provide quality services. It does this through specialized structures: handling, boatage, piloting, the customs office, the harbour master’s office and the Chamber of Commerce’s personnel.

To improve the quality of their services, work has been undertaken concerning accommodating passengers as well as accommodating ships.

For the passengers: rehabilitation and expansion of existing buildings with an expansion of the embarkation hall.

For the ships: the first phase of dredging operation has been carried out. The second phase is in progress.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bastia and Northern Corsica has also set up a medium and a long-term developing strategy by:

• extending the platforms
• lengthening the Quay Delannay
